Jesus Is King, Now What?
What does it actually mean to call Jesus king? Not just as a title we sing about on Sunday mornings, but as a lived reality that shapes every decision, every relationship, and every corner of our hearts? This message cuts straight to the heart of that question. We explore the difference between inviting Jesus into our kingdom as a kind of divine advisor versus genuinely surrendering to his kingdom as the reigning authority over our lives. The central insight is both simple and disruptive: if Jesus is king, it is his kingdom, not ours. And if it is not his kingdom, then he is not truly our king. Drawing from John 10 and Matthew 7, we are reminded that Jesus does not merely point us toward the gate, he is the gate. He does not just model the way, he is the way. This reframes what it means to follow Jesus from a passive fan relationship into an active, daily surrender. The kingdom of heaven is not a distant destination we wait for, it is a present reality we are invited to live under right now. The question left ringing in our ears is a personal one: who is actually sitting on the throne of our lives today?
